Apple is equipping the iPhone 18 Pro series with the biggest hardware upgrade, which includes first ever 2nm A20 Pro processor, Tripe 48 Megapixel camera system with Variable aperture and ultra wide lens. The new chip is reportedly so efficient that it will help the iPhone 18 Pro max last a full day on heavy use with expected battery capacity of 5200mAh And Advanced Apple intelligence.

According to reports Apple is not focusing on redesigning the upcoming iPhone 18 Series. Instead, the company is improving small details that make the phone feel more premium in daily use. Leaks say the aluminum frame now blends much more smoothly into the back glass, making the edges feel cleaner and more comfortable in the hand. In case you don’t know, Apple is not using titanium anymore to improve internal heat dissipation and thermal throttling. Though some user complaint about aluminum surface scratches or chipping more easily compared to titanium. Apple is also expected to launch new colors like dark cherry, light blue, dark gray, and silver.
But that’s not the real story here. Because the front of the phone is where the biggest visual change is happening.
According to recent leaks, Apple has is reportedly reducing the size of the Dynamic Island by almost thirty-five percent. This could make the screen look more immersive compared to older Pro models. At the same time, the camera bump on the back is also getting larger this year, and there’s a good reason for that. Because for the first time in history, Apple is rumored to add a physical variable aperture system to the main camera, meaning the camera lens can physically open and close depending on lighting conditions, similar to DSLR cameras. Apple is also expected to use a larger 48-megapixel stacked sensor for better low-light photos and natural background blur.

The telephoto camera is also rumored to get a wider aperture. instead of relying on software to improve image quality, Apple is adding mechanical parts for the tasks. Hence the larger camera bump.
Processor
The iPhone 18 Pro Max is also getting Apple’s new first 2nm A20 Pro chip. Apart from speed, Apple is reportedly using this chip to improve battery life and heat control. This new chip might help the iPhone 18 Pro Max to last for the entire day on heavy uses.
Release Date and Price
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max and the first ever iPhone Fold during the September launch event. with the Pro Max likely starting at $1,199 again and iPhone fold going up to $2499. And if these leaks are accurate, this might become Apple’s biggest hardware upgrade in years.
